The Associate Scientist I – Formulation Development will be responsible for the execution of laboratory experiments to prepare nanoparticle formulations and develop lab management best practices including safety and quality.

This position reports to the Manager, Formulation Development and is part of the Preclinical Services team located in Vancouver, BC and will be an on-site role.

What you’ll do:

+ Manufacturing nanoparticle formulations using NanoAssemblr platforms, independently doing all the calculations and buffers/reagents preparation needed for formulation activities

+ Making progress on different projects in parallel and sorting the associated activities according to the priorities

+ Performing analysis using Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS), RiboGreen assay, ELISA, Western Blot or other routine lab assays

+ Preparing reagents, buffers, and equipment for use in experiments

+ Preparing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), reports, and technical presentations.

Who you are:

+ BSc in a Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences or relevant disciplines with at least 2 years of laboratory experience.

+ Experience in the preparation of nanoparticle formulations and aseptic handling of sterile materials such as tissue cultures, buffer solutions, etc. in biosafety cabinets.

+ Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

+ Ability to work with minimum supervision.

+ Must be able to lift 30 lbs.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

+ Hands-on experience in standard molecular biology techniques (such as ELISA), working with plate readers, DLS instruments, and UV-Vis spectrophotometers

The annual salary range for this role is 70,000-85,000 CAD. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
