This on-site role is part of Aldevron’s Technology department in Bangalore, India. You’ll report to the Vice President of IT and help build and grow Aldevron’s offshore engineering center. Your focus will be on embedding AI-powered workflows into our operations and leading a global team that brings together software, data, and AI to drive digital transformation across our science and manufacturing efforts.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
+ Build and lead Aldevron’s India Engineering Center as part of a global digital team.
+ Design and scale AI-powered workflows across development, testing, support, and operations.
+ Deliver key products and platforms in close partnership with U.S. engineering leaders.
+ Set engineering standards and modern practices like AI/ML, MLOps, CI/CD, DevSecOps, and automation.
+ Align India operations with enterprise architecture, product goals, and compliance needs.
+ Mentor engineers to grow into skilled, independent contributors and future leaders and Promote technical excellence, continuous improvement, and a culture of innovation and accountability.
+ Establish strong governance, clear metrics, and open communication across time zones.
The essential requirements of the job include:
+ 10+ years in software engineering and 5+ years in leadership, with a proven record scaling global or offshore engineering teams.
+ Strong architecture and engineering expertise, including distributed systems, APIs, microservices, and modern full-stack or enterprise platforms (ERP, MES, LIMS, cloud-native).
+ Hands-on proficiency in cloud and DevSecOps (Azure/AWS/GCP, Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD pipelines) and strong programming skills in C# and/or Python.
+ Deep experience embedding AI and automation into engineering and IT workflows, including intelligent process automation, MLOps, and generative-AI–enabled development.
+ Experience in regulated or high-compliance industries (life sciences or biotech preferred) with understanding of validation, data lineage, and governance.
+ Demonstrated leadership in agile product delivery, vendor integration, and matrixed environments, with strong ability to influence across functions
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
+ AI/Cloud/DevOps Certification: AI/ML certifications (e.g., Microsoft AI Engineer, AWS ML Specialty) and cloud/DevOps certifications (Azure/AWS/GCP Architect, DevOps Engineer).
+ Agile & Project Leadership Certification: SAFe Agilist, Certified Product Owner/Scrum Master, and/or PMP/PRINCE2 for delivery and governance leadership.
+ Security, Data, or Compliance Certification: Cloud security (e.g., CCSP), data management (e.g., DAMA CDMP), or GxP/CSV-related credentials for regulated environments.
