The Field Application Scientist (FAS) Manager leads a team of highly skilled scientists dedicated to providing exceptional technical support and driving customer success across IDT’s portfolio. This role is pivotal in shaping a best-in-class organization that partners closely with Sales to deliver innovative solutions and ensure customer satisfaction. The FAS Manager will attract top talent, develop team members, and foster a culture of excellence and collaboration, while maintaining a strong presence in the field to lead by example.
This position reports to the VP Sales, Americas and oversees a team that includes managers for CRISPR and NGS, each with their own sub-teams. The role is remote with regular travel to customer sites across the Americas.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
+ Lead and develop a high-performing team of Field Application Scientists, including CRISPR and NGS managers, by providing mentorship, guidance, and growth opportunities.
+ Implement standard processes and foster a customer-first mindset to ensure consistent, high-quality technical support and engagement.
+ Maintain a strong field presence by meeting customers, providing advanced technical consultation, and demonstrating leadership by example.
+ Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Product Management, and R&D to align technical strategies with commercial objectives and influence product development.
+ Drive innovation and thought leadership by staying ahead of trends in NGS, CRISPR, Synthetic Biology, and qPCR/dPCR, and translating insights into actionable strategies that position IDT as a trusted partner.
The essential requirements of the job include:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences (Biology preferred), .
+ Minimum of 3 years (5 years preferred) of management and mentorship experience
+ Experience translating complex scientific needs into tailored product solutions
+ Minimum of 5 years of experience in NGS
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements: if applicable for role
+ Around 50%-75% field time in the assigned territory
+ Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
+ CRISPR, Synthetic Biology, qPCR or dPCR field.
+ Master or PhD in a Life Science field preferred
+ Preferred 5 years of FAS experience in NGS field
+ Familiarity with IDT’s portfolio including CRISPR, NGS, Synthetic biology, qPCR / dPCR and Custom oligo

Remote position based in territory (Boston area)

The annual base salary range for this role is $165,000.00 – $185,000.00. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
