The Field Service Engineer II is responsible for provide technical service and support (installation, repair, maintenance, and validation) for digital pathology solutions from Leica Biosystems, including whole slide imaging scanners such as Aperio scanners, image management systems, and associated hardware and software components.

This position reports to the Field service engineer supervisor and is part of the Service team located in São Paulo – Capital and will be working remotely (field) to cover designated territory.

In this role, you will have be responsible for, but not limited to:

+ Deliver customers on-site installation, preventive, corrective maintenance, training and technical support for Digital Pathology solutions, including whole slide imaging scanners such as Aperio scanners and related, hardware/software systems.

+ Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electronic, electromechanical, hardware, software, operating system, network connectivity, and LIS integration-related issues, ensuring high system availability, customer satisfaction, and compliance with service procedures.

+ Perform service documentation, manage assigned spare parts, and collaborate with internal teams (Service, Sales, Applications, and IT) to support customer workflows, system upgrades, and service contract commitments.

The essential requirements of the job include:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Technical Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronic Engineering, IT, Biomedical Engineering, or related fields with CFT or active CREA registration is considered a differential.

Experience: Experience delivering field service support for medical devices and digital imaging systems—including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting—while working with Windows, Windows Server, and Linux environments and supporting integrated laboratory workflows involving scanners, servers, image platforms, and LIS connectivity.

Language: Advanced English (spoken and written), advanced Brazilian Portuguese (spoken and written); Spanish will be differential.

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements: if applicable for role

+ Ability to travel 80%+, frequent overnight travel, must maintain a flexible schedule, often with short notice. International travel will be required.

+ Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

+ Must have a valid Passport and USA Visa
