Join our research group, Autonomous Control and Operations,
located in Princeton, NJ, for a 3-6 month internship, and contribute to the
development and deployment of innovative AI and vision solutions for industrial
applications. Our close contact with different business units in Siemens
provides the opportunity to contribute to and gain experience in real
industrial challenges. During this internship, you will experience the
excitement and challenges of industrial research. An internship with Siemens Technology

Key responsibilities:
+ Contributeto industrial research projects focused on AI and computer vision forvarious applications, such as visual inspection, predictive maintenance,and autonomous systems.
+ Developand implement AI models, including deep learning architectures, for imageand video analysis in industrial settings.
+ Workwith real-world industrial datasets, including multi-modal data, to train,validate, and deploy AI solutions.
+ Exploreand experiment with different AI paradigms, from traditional machinelearning to agentic systems and Large Language Models (LLMs), forindustrial use cases.
+ Collaborateand exchange ideas with experts in AI, computer vision, and industrialautomation across Siemens research and business units.
Basic Qualifications:
+ MSor PhD student pursuing a degree in Computer Science, ElectricalEngineering, Robotics, Applied Mathematics, or a closely related field.
+ Programmingproficiency in Python — including experience writing clean, modular,reusable code and working with AI/ML libraries such as TensorFlow,PyTorch, or Keras.
+ Foundationalknowledge of modern AI systems architectures and deployment strategies forindustrial applications.
+ Hands-onexperience working with real-world data, including data preprocessing,feature engineering, and model training.
+ Proficiencyin English, both written and verbal.
+ Legallyresiding in the United States of America and hold a valid work permit forthe US.
Preferred Qualification:
+ Practicalexperience in computer vision, including object detection, segmentation,classification, or anomaly detection.
+ Familiaritywith agentic systems, reinforcement learning, or the application of LargeLanguage Models (LLMs) in industrial contexts.
+ Experiencewith multi-modal data processing and fusion (e.g., combining visual datawith sensor data).
+ Experiencewith cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) for AI model deployment andMLOps.
+ Familiaritywith industrial communication protocols or embedded systems for edge AIdeployments.
+ Experiencewith software development best practices: version control (Git), unittesting (pytest), and technical documentation.
+ Flexibilityand adaptability to work in a growing, dynamic, interdisciplinary team ofexperts across AI, computer vision, and industrial engineering.
A successful candidate must be able to work with controlled
