The Manufacturing Scientist II for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for identifying and resolving moderately complex technical issues with current products or qualifies improvements to existing or modified product configurations.

This position is part of the Technical Operations Department located in Carlsbad, CA and will be on-site. At Beckman Coulter, our vision is to relentlessly reimagine healthcare, one diagnosis at a time.

You will be a part of Technical Operations and report to the Manager of Technical Operations responsible for investigations into and implementation of process improvements of post launch manufacturing reagents. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

+ Apply analytical skills and judgment to develop innovative, practical and consistent solutions to production processes and systems aimed at performance, quality and costs.

+ Updates existing process and product documentation, as needed, in a timely manner.

+ Focus on key deliverables and priority projects, acting as a hands-on resource where needed at the discretion of the manager to ensure on-time delivery of a high-quality product.

+ Uses standard methodologies and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve products or services.

+ Works with a moderate level of guidance and direction, as may be needed.

The essential requirements of the job include:

+ Bachelor’s degree, or a MS degree in the areas of chemistry, biochemistry biotechnology, molecular biology or equivalent.

+ 2+ years of industry experience.

+ Experience in an FDA regulated environment.

+ Technical writing capability.

+ Ability to work efficiently on cross-functional teams.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

+ Diagnostic Chemistry Reagent Formulations

+ Statistical analysis

+ Protein purifications/conjugations

The salary range OR the hourly range for this role is $72K – $95K. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
