**About Smart Infrastructure – Electrification and Automation:**
The Electrification and Automation (EA) Business Unit offers the full range of energy distribution systems and solutions for all markets and through all sales channels. We provide reliable power distribution grids of today while investing into our Future Grids portfolio and applications to create the power distribution grid of the future. Our comprehensive portfolio meets the growing technical requirements of today’s and tomorrow’s power grid!
The **Knightdale** facility will deliver integrated electrical skid assemblies that combine power distribution and power conversion equipment with protection and automation systems. Electrical skids provide outdoor rated, modular, value-add solutions for key vertical markets to improve delivery reliability and lower total cost of ownership for customers.
**We are looking for a** **Material Movement Supervisor (Rigging & Crane Operations)** **for our SieSAW (skid assembly) operation. This position will be based in Raleigh/Knightdale, North Carolina. This is a greenfield startup assembly plant.**
A Material Movement Supervisor oversees all rigging and crane operations, ensuring the safe and efficient lifting and moving of heavy materials using cranes, hoists, and other rigging equipment.Supervisors must communicate effectively with ground personnel using hand signals, radios, or other devices, calculate load weights, and ensure loads do not exceed crane capacity. They may also assist in organizing warehouse logistics for efficient material handling.
**Roles & Responsibilities**
+ **Planning and Coordination** : Develop and implement rigging plans for lifting operations, ensuring that all activities are executed safely and efficiently. This includes assessing the site and determining the best rigging methods for each project
+ **Supervision of Rigging Teams** : Lead and manage rigging crews, providing guidance and training to ensure compliance with safety standards and operational procedures. This includes conducting safety briefings and ensuring that all team members are knowledgeable about their roles
+ **Safety Inspections** : Conduct regular inspections of rigging equipment and gear to ensure they meet safety regulations and are in good working condition. This includes maintaining accurate records of inspections and repairs
+ **Compliance with Regulations** : Ensure that all rigging operations comply with OSHA and other industry-specific safety standards. This involves staying updated on regulations and implementing necessary changes to maintain compliance
+ **Communication** : Collaborate with project managers, crane operators, and other stakeholders to coordinate rigging operations and address any issues that may arise during lifting activities
+ **Problem-Solving** : Address and resolve any challenges that occur during rigging operations, including unexpected changes in project scope or equipment failures. This requires quick thinking and effective decision-making skills
**You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:**
**Basic Qualifications:**
+ High School Diploma or GED.
+ Minimum **5+ years of experience** in crane operations and rigging within industrial or construction environments, including supervisory or lead responsibility.
+ Strong working knowledge of crane load charts, rigging methods, lift planning, and critical lift execution.
+ Current **NCCCO Crane Operator and/or Rigger certification** (or equivalent nationally recognized certification).
+ Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA crane and rigging regulations and safe work practices.
+ Ability to travel to project sites as required.
+ Adherence to Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety policies, with a commitment to continuous improvement and being a strong team player.
+ Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned by Management.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ NCCCO Lift Certification
+ Valid **CDL Class A** license
+ OSHA 30 certification.
+ Forklift certification
+ Experience supervising crane operations in manufacturing plants, power generation, or large industrial facilities.
+ Ability to read and interpret engineered lift plans and technical drawings.
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to coordinate across multiple teams
