The EA Business Unit has a diverse portfolio of products, including, but not limited to, low-voltage MCC, CMR fuse saver, MV switchgear, MV circuit breakers, and metering, power monitoring, power quality, and protective relay maintenance and systems of a standard nature.
**We are looking for a Production Manager. This position will be based in Wendell, NC. Relocation assistance is available.**
We are seeking a **Production Manager** for our Electrification and Automation (EA) Business Unit, with direct responsibility for the **SIPROTEC 5 added‑value production line** and leadership oversight for the **Repair, Evaluation & Return (RER)** team. This role drives best‑in‑class operations for protection relays delivered to utilities and industrial customers across North America.
The Production Manager oversees a multi‑disciplinary operation consisting of:
+ SIPROTEC 5 technicians and added‑value assembly processes
+ Production team leads and supervisors
+ The RER Supervisor and the full RER diagnostic/repair/test organization
In this role, you will partner extensively with **Industrial Engineering (IE)** and **Operations Excellence (OpEx)** to build a world‑class, lean, flexible, and technology‑enabled production and repair operation. You will drive continuous improvement, optimize end‑to‑end workflows, elevate quality, and cultivate a highly engaged and accountable workplace culture.

**You’ll make an impact by:**
+ **Leading daily operations** for the SIPROTEC 5 production line including software staging, configuration, labeling, firmware governance, automated testing, and technical quality assurance.
+ **Providing strategic leadership** and direct oversight to the RER Supervisor to ensure synchronized performance between production throughput and repair turnaround‑time objectives.
+ **Driving Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma practices** , implementing standard work, reducing waste, and building a culture of continuous improvement in partnership with Industrial Engineering and OpEx.
+ **Designing and optimizing workflows** that support takt‑time alignment, load leveling, test‑station utilization, and efficient labor allocation across SIPROTEC and RER operations.
+ **Developing high‑performing teams** , coaching supervisors, empowering technicians, and fostering a positive, inclusive, and growth‑oriented culture.
+ **Managing operational KPIs** such as cycle time, first‑pass yield, throughput, cost management, backlog health, and on‑time delivery, using SAP, Salesforce, and SharePoint for KPI visibility.
+ **Collaborating cross‑functionally** with Engineering, Quality, Logistics, Customer Service, Order Management, and Field teams to resolve issues and support customer commitments.
+ **Ensuring compliance** with Siemens standards on firmware, cybersecurity, ESD, safety, and documentation control.

**Basic Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor’s degree in engineering, electronics, industrial technology, or equivalent experience.
+ 5+ years of experience managing operations in a technology or electronics environment.
+ Experience leading multi‑layer teams (technicians, supervisors, team leads).
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt, or equivalent continuous‑improvement certification.
+ 7–10 years of experience with protection relays (Siemens SIPROTEC, SEL, GE, ABB) or other complex electro‑technical products.
+ Expertise with DIGSI 5, automated test sets, firmware management, and electronic diagnostics.
+ Proficiency with SAP, SharePoint, and standard office tools.
+ Strong people leadership skills with a track record of building culture, developing talent, and leading through change.
+ Experience collaborating with Industrial Engineering and OpEx teams to design or scale production lines.
+ Ability to manage urgent technical issues and maintain a calm, professional presence under pressure.
