As a Sales Manager Switzerland & Austria you will be responsible for commercial strategy execution, revenue growth, key account management, and team leadership within the hospital, laboratory, and private healthcare segments.
The successful candidate will combine strong business acumen, healthcare diagnostics expertise, and inspirational leadership to drive sustainable growth, customer partnership excellence, and market share expansion in a highly regulated and competitive environment.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
+ Develop and Execute Commercial Strategy: Define and implement the country sales strategy to achieve revenue, profitability, and market share targets across Switzerland and Austria.
+ Drive Revenue Growth: Deliver sustainable sales growth through effective pipeline management, forecasting accuracy, and opportunity prioritization.
+ Lead and Develop the Sales Team: Recruit, coach, and manage a high-performing sales team, setting clear KPIs and fostering a results-driven culture.
+ Manage Key Accounts and Strategic Partnerships: Build and maintain strong relationships with hospital leaders, laboratory directors, procurement stakeholders, and key opinion leaders.
+ Lead Complex Negotiations and Tenders: Oversee large contracts, public tenders, and framework agreements in compliance with local healthcare regulations.
+ Ensure Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with marketing, medical, service, and operations teams to deliver integrated customer solutions.
+ Maintain Compliance and Operational Excellence: Ensure adherence to regulatory, quality, and ethical standards while optimizing CRM usage, reporting, and territory management.
The essential requirements of the job include:
+ Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Business Administration, Healthcare Management, or a related field.
+ Diagnostics Industry Experience: 7–10+ years of sales experience in in-vitro diagnostics (IVD), medical devices, or healthcare solutions.
+ Proven Sales Leadership: Demonstrated success leading and developing field-based sales teams with clear performance accountability.
+ Market Knowledge (Switzerland & Austria): Strong understanding of local healthcare systems, hospital procurement structures, and tender processes.
+ Strategic & Commercial Acumen: Ability to translate market insights into actionable growth strategies and deliver sustainable revenue results.
+ Negotiation & Influencing Skills: Strong track record managing complex sales cycles, key account negotiations, and high-value contracts.
+ Language & Communication Skills: Fluency in German and English; additional languages (e.g., French) are an advantage.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
+ Good understanding of Lab operating financials and healthcare economics
+ Highly organized with strong program and sales management skills with excellent time and territory management habits
+ A track record of successfully developing and executing account plans, work diligently within the sales cycle activities, prepare for, and deliver business reviews effectively (both with customers and internally)
