The Senior Procurement Engineer is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and managing suppliers to ensure the organization receives high-quality goods and services at competitive prices. The Senior Procurement Engineer supports commodity management and focuses on assisting in sourcing activities, supplier coordination, and cost tracking, while aligning with overall global commodity (Category) strategies. The Senior Procurement Engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams including Commodity Management, Project Procurement, R&D, Operations, and Quality to help ensure supply continuity and performance. The role is typically focused on operational execution, with growing exposure to strategic sourcing and supplier performance management.

This position reports to the Senior Procurement Manager and is part of the Global Sourcing team located in Singapore and will be an on-site role.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

Operational Execution

+ Support implementation of sourcing activities, coordinate with cross-functional teams during product development and ramp-up phases, and ensure smooth operational execution aligned with global strategies.

Supplier & Cost Management

+ Manage assigned suppliers, negotiate prices and contracts, track performance metrics, and act as the primary site contact for sourcing-related queries and issue resolution.

Commodity & Market Support

+ Conduct market research and supplier analysis, assist in supplier qualification and development, and provide data insights to support global commodity strategies and cost reduction initiatives.

Project Procurement

+ Lead low-complexity procurement projects, develop project plans and timelines, ensure timely execution, and maintain clear communication and documentation.

Continuous Improvement

+ Apply DBS tools (e.g., 5S, DMP, SW, TPI) to drive sustainable improvements, participate in Kaizen events, and coordinate supplier involvement in improvement initiatives.

The essential requirements of the job include:

+ Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field.

+ Experience: Minimum 5 years in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain within a manufacturing environment.

+ Technical Skills: Proficiency in SAP, e-procurement platforms, Microsoft Office Suite, and Power BI for data-driven decision-making.

+ Communication & Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze data and communicate effectively across functions.

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:

+ Ability to travel – up to 10%

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

+ Commodity management experience in Optics, Hardware, Packaging and Print Media.
