Siemens Grand Prairie, Texas is looking for a Shipping Coordinator for 2nd Shift to join their Breaker plant. Typical day would be coming in, updating shipments status, any that may still be here – find out status on their loads review LTL trailers & order trailer swaps where needed, attend morning production meetings. Review notes from meeting & book truck appointments, book miscellaneous courier requests that come in from operations, follow up on any issues from the production meetings, see what Shipping Supervisor needs assistance with (other duties as assigned), attend afternoon production meetings & from those update all the current bookings accordingly and then add any new bookings This position also works with our off-stie storage partner(s) to coordinate pickup/delivery of truckloads. The hours for 2nd Shift is 4:00pm – 12:30am.
**You’ll make an impact by:**
+ Oversee daily inventory operations, including receiving, put-away, picking, and deliveries to production, ensuring adherence to established procedures.
+ Identify opportunities for process improvements in inventory management, warehouse layout, and material flow to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
+ Utilize inventory management systems (WMS, ERP, etc.) effectively to track inventory, generate reports, and analyze data.
+ Collaborate with other departments (e.g., Procurement, Production, Sales, Finance) to ensure seamless inventory flow and meet operational requirements.
+ Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all inventory-related activities.
**You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:**
**Basic Qualifications:**
+ High School/GED or equivalent years of experience
+ 1-3 years experience in a logistics role
+ Experience with Microsoft Office, Excel and Word.
+ Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Associate’s degree
+ In-depth understanding of inventory control principles, methodologies (e.g., FIFO, LIFO, ABC analysis), and best practices.
+ Knowledge of warehouse operations, logistics, and supply chain processes.
+ SAP
