The Senior Staff Engineer, Systems Integration is responsible for working on developing and progressing the system integration strategy for the Systems Engineering team. In this role, you will be the systems integration lead on projects. The individual will develop new test methods, lead troubleshooting, and perform failure Investigations to support ongoing design and development efforts across Cepheid’s diagnostic platforms. This role is ideal for an individual who enjoys solving complex technical problems and believes in our mission of delivering a better way to improve patient outcomes by enabling access to molecular diagnostic testing everywhere. A successful individual in this role will utilize technical knowledge, experience, and engineering tools and methodologies to bridge the gap across functional teams and connect critical elements, including Software, Firmware, Hardware, Consumables, Biochemistry, and Optics. You will be a critical player in a fast-paced team that is sustaining current bestselling generation instrumentation and developing next generation diagnostic instrument platforms and lab automation systems.
This position is part of the Systems Engineering team and will be in in Bengaluru, IDC, India. At Cepheid, our mission is delivering A Better Way to improve patient outcomes by enabling access to molecular diagnostic testing everywhere.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
+ Perform systems integration engineering and hands-on triaging across Cepheid instruments, subsystems, and diagnostic platforms
+ Execute laboratory testing in engineering, instrument, and molecular biology labs using Cepheid diagnostic systems and related equipment
+ Analyze complex datasets to identify trends and areas for investigation.
+ Define, document, and maintain system architecture and technical requirements in compliance with Quality and Regulatory requirements
+ Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams (Software, Firmware, Mechanical, Electrical, Customer Care, and Biochemistry) to drive technical deliverables and system validation
The essential requirements of the job include:
+ Bachelor’s degree in engineering, molecular biology, life sciences, or related technical discipline with 8+ years of industry laboratory experience OR Master’s degree with 6+ years of industry laboratory experience in roles such as System Integration Engineer, System Development Engineer, Product Development Engineer, or Physicist
+ Proven experience developing and integrating complex instrumentation systems incorporating optical, mechanical, thermal, and firmware/software components in regulated industry environments
+ Proficiency in experimental design, test result interpretation, and conducting failure investigations using established engineering methodologies
+ Advanced data analysis expertise with proficiency in software packages such as Origin, Matlab, Minitab, or Image Analysis Software
+ Demonstrated expertise in authoring and maintaining system architecture documents, requirements specifications, traceability matrices, and performing risk and failure analysis
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
+ Medical device or biotechnology industry with GMP and GLP experience
+ Knowledge of analog and digital electronics, hardware test method development, optomechanical design and assembly, electromechanical assembly.
