We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced laboratory manager to oversee the operations of our type test laboratory. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with ISO 17025:2018 standards, managing laboratory personnel, and maintaining the quality and efficiency of laboratory processes.
**We are looking for a Type Test Laboratory Manager. This position will be based in Johnson City, TN and has a 20% opportunity for hybrid work. Relocation will be provided to out of area candidates.**
**You’ll make an impact by:**
+ Laboratory Management:
+ Oversee the daily operations of the laboratory, ensuring compliance with ISO 17025:2018 standards
+ Manage and organize laboratory activities to meet testing and certification requirements
+ Ensure the effectiveness of the laboratory’s management system
+ Personnel Management:
+ Lead and develop the laboratory team, including recruitment, training, and performance management
+ Foster a collaborative and productive work environment
+ Quality Assurance:
+ Ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results
+ Monitor and improve analysis methods and laboratory procedures
+ Participate in internal and external audits
+ Customer Relations:
+ Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and provide excellent customer service
+ Address client inquiries and concerns promptly
+ Continuous Improvement:
+ Implement and oversee continuous improvement initiatives within the laboratory
+ Identify areas for process optimization and efficiency gains
+ Budget and Resource Management:
+ Manage laboratory budgets and resources to ensure cost-effective operations
+ Ensure the economic efficiency of the laboratory
+ Decision Making:
+ Make informed decisions regarding testing procedures and results
+ Approve type test reports and ensure timely execution of test orders
**You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:**
Basic Qualifications:
+ 8+ years of professional experience with electronic products
+ 3+ years experience in laboratory management
+ Bachelor’s degree in a technical field.
+ Prior professional experience in an electronics product testing (type test) environment
+ In-depth knowledge of ISO 17025:2018 standards and their application
+ Proven experience in personnel management and team leadership
+ Strong communication and customer service skills
+ Demonstrated ability to identify and implement improvement opportunities
+ Limited travel (typically less than 5% per year)
+ Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Electrical Engineering degree
+ Advanced degree in a technical field
+ Experience with global product certification and qualification of electronic assemblies is a plus

+ The pay range for this position is **$98,980 – $169.680** and the annual incentive is **10%** of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
