We are looking for a VP, Emerging Technologies Insights, to contribute to the strategic direction of Danaher, and guide the optimization of the innovation portfolio in our life sciences and diagnostic platforms to achieve market leadership.

As the VP, Emerging Technologies Insights, you will be responsible for generating industry-leading market analyses and insights on new, disruptive, and complementary technologies that are relevant for Danaher’s businesses. In addition, you will be responsible to perform competitive threats analysis and develop competitive positioning and differentiation strategies, that are critical to optimize product design and business strategy. You will work with Danaher business leaders to understand core business strengths and priorities, and leverage this with your background experience to create sound business cases to drive investment and partnership decisions for emerging technologies. This role requires a visionary leader with exceptional market and business analytics expertise in life sciences and diagnostics, that understands how to forecast complex future markets, and with proven success in bridging between emerging science and its breakthrough potential, to deliver actionable market insight assessments, competitive positioning strategies, and corporate recommendations that help shape and optimize the innovation portfolio. In this role, you will partner with senior leaders across the organization at the Corporate, Platform and OpCo level to drive meaningful improvements in human health and in turn drive market share gains and shareholder value.

This position is part of the S&T Innovation Group and the CSO Office, at Danaher Corporation and will be located in Boston.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

+ Conduct comprehensive market research to identify and evaluate new product opportunities within the biomanufacturing, life sciences, diagnostics, and genomic medicine sectors.

+ Build and implement a harmonized framework for market research and business case development for the portfolio of early innovation and develop a competitive landscape and threat assessment framework to optimize the portfolio of innovation and drive business strategy.

+ Perform detailed competitive analysis to understand the positioning of potential competitors, identify market gaps, and highlight our unique opportunities to leverage products, technologies, and intellectual property across operating companies.

+ Provide deep business analytics and develop business cases for emerging technologies of relevance for Danaher to drive partnership and investment decisions and revenue models and pro forma income statements for nascent-stage products and markets, incorporating various scenarios and assumptions to forecast potential market penetration and profitability.

+ Develop the tooling, processes, and data streams to build an industry-leading market insight and business case capability for emerging technologies at Danaher, enabling critical business decisions.

The essential requirements of the job include:

+ 15+ years of experience in market research, business analytics, strategy consulting, or related fields with demonstrated experience in evaluating market attractiveness and strategic fit of new businesses/markets/domains, with at least 5-10 years in a top-tier consulting firm

+ Undergraduate degree in natural sciences and top-tier MBA or other graduate degree.

+ Demonstrated experience with quantitative and qualitative research methodologies, industry trends, and competitive landscape.

+ Strong interpersonal and influencing skills with demonstrated ability to work well cross-functionally and to interact across multiple levels of the organization including with executives at the most senior levels.

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate complex business issues while simplifying strategy into specific actions with clear accountability.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

+ PhD in a life sciences discipline is a plus
