Our **Construction Field Procurement Manager ** is responsible for managing third-party spending on materials, equipment and construction subcontractors working on Siemens’ customers’ projects within Hartford, CT, Boston, MA, and Maine. Our Construction Field Procurement Managers enhance Siemens’ competitiveness in large project bids by collaborating with sales or project teams to create sourcing strategies, managing subcontractor solicitations (RFQs and RFPs), conducting bid leveling, and negotiating pricing and contract terms.
**As a Construction Field Procurement Manager, you will:**
+ Build and manage a diverse supplier and subcontractor network to support Siemens’ building automation, security, fire alarm, electrical, and mechanical services.
+ Ensure adherence to standardized sourcing processes and tools in collaboration with sales and operations teams.
+ Lead or support data analytics, process improvements, and category strategy development across Siemens’ project procurement network in the U.S. and Americas.
+ Act as a business partner to Area Success Managers within the area offices of Jacksonville, New Orleans, and Birmingham
+ Achieve target for percentage cost savings goals through strategic price negotiations and value engineering initiatives.
+ Negotiate favorable contract terms with suppliers and subcontractors, including payment terms.
+ Foster strong relationships with major suppliers, including gathering and sharing feedback from internal teams.
+ Assess financial documents to evaluate the financial health of subcontractors.
+ Achieve customer satisfaction and service delivery goals per feedback from key stakeholders.
**You will make an impact with these qualifications: **
Basic Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree or apprenticeship in a construction trade
+ 3+ years of experience in commercial construction, including at least 2 years in purchasing for construction trade contractors
+ Experience soliciting bids and negotiating pricing and contract terms for contracts exceeding $1 million
+ Willingness and ability to work from a Siemens office 3 days per week
+ Up to 10% travel
+ Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Engineering Technology, Business, or Construction Management
+ Experience qualifying and developing minority, women, and veteran-owned businesses
+ Sourcing experience with design-build contractors, including negotiation of teaming agreements
+ Experience working with sales and engineering teams on cost reduction initiatives
+ Experience analyzing spending data for potential cost-saving opportunities within Excel
+ Experience developing and delivering PowerPoint presentations for management teams
+ Experience creating basic visualizations with Qlik, Tableau, or other data visualization platforms
