**We are looking for a Solar PV Instructor (Central & String Inverters). This position will be based in San Antonio, TX.**

This role delivers hands-on, instructor-led training focused on commissioning, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of solar inverter systems. The position translates real-world PV field experience into repeatable learning that improves system reliability, startup quality, and operational performance for customers and internal teams. Training is primarily delivered in a lab environment at Siemens’ Power Academy, with occasional customer-site sessions.

**You’ll make a difference by:**

+ **Delivering instructor-led, hands-on technical training** covering commissioning, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and firmware updates for solar inverter systems.

+ **Teaching structured commissioning workflows** for string inverters, including installation verification, startup validation, and common commissioning issues.

+ **Training O&M best practices** for central inverters, including operating modes, inspections, preventive maintenance, and safe field practices.

+ **Guiding firmware update execution** with emphasis on planning, prerequisites, validation, documentation, and rollback strategies.

+ **Developing and maintaining courseware** such as presentations, lab exercises, troubleshooting scenarios, job aids, and assessments.

+ **Owning and maintaining training lab environments** to ensure realistic, functional, and repeatable hands-on learning scenarios.

+ **Collaborating cross-functionally** with engineering, product management, service, and sales teams to align training with product updates and field trends.

**Basic Qualifications:**

+ Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, power systems, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.

+ 3+ years of experience with the following:

+ Knowledge of Siemens PV products and inverter systems, or similar technologies.

+ Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot firmware, software, and hardware problems.

+ Strong communication skills—able to explain complex technical topics in clear, practical terms so learners quickly understand and can apply them.

+ Up to 10% travel may be required if located near San Antonio, TX.

+ Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

+ Experience with utility-scale PV inverters and integrated power systems

+ Familiarity with grid codes, SCADA, Modbus, IEC 61850, system commissioning, and performing field diagnostics

+ Experience delivering technical training in a lab or customer-facing environment.

+ Familiarity with central and string inverter platforms in utility-scale solar applications.

+ Experience developing modular technical training materials and troubleshooting exercises.

+ Strong ability to tailor technical content for technicians, engineers, and supervisors.
