**We are looking for a Quality Assurance Manager.** The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive quality assurance systems and procedures to ensure products, services, and processes consistently meet established quality standards, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations.
As a working manager, this role directly oversees, leads, and mentors the team of quality assurance engineers and managers within the QM-QA department at the two Trayer Engineering site locations in the SF East Bay (San Leandro and Livermore). Key responsibilities include directing, training, and supervising these professionals, developing strategic quality initiatives, driving continuous improvement, and fostering a robust culture of quality throughout the organization by focusing on process excellence.

**You’ll make a difference by:**
**Strategic Planning & System Management:**
+ Develop, implement, and maintain the organization’s Quality Management System (QMS)
+ Formulate and implement quality strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure process and product quality.
+ Define quality metrics, targets, and reporting mechanisms to monitor system performance and effectiveness.
**Team Leadership & Development:**
+ Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Quality Engineers, Quality Managers and other quality professionals.
+ Conduct growth talks, provide constructive feedback, and identify training needs to enhance team capabilities.
+ Cultivate a collaborative and high-performance work environment focused on quality excellence.
**Quality Assurance & Process Oversight:**
+ Establish and maintain processes for product and process validation, ensuring alignment to quality standards through the product lifecycle.
+ Manage the non-conformance process, including identification, documentation, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA), ensuring systemic improvements to eliminate non-conformances and potential to recur.
+ Ensure effective implementation of methodologies (e.g., SPC, pFMEA, Fishbone Analysis, 5 Why, PPAP, 8D) and quality tools to prevent defects and improve processes.
+ Define and monitor the effectiveness of inspection and testing protocols performed by other teams (e.g., QC, Production) to ensure product conformity.
+ Conduct internal audits, independent of EASE audits, to verify QMS compliance and identify areas for systemic improvement. Participate in EASE audits.
+ Participate in all Product Safety related activities.
+ Perform the duties as the level 3 review and approval for all Product Safety investigations and risk analysis
+ Oversee communications and corrective actions with Mexico and Germany factories on customer issues
**Continuous Improvement:**
+ Drive a culture of continuous improvement by promoting Lean, Six Sigma, and other methodologies to optimize processes, reduce variation, and prevent waste.
+ Analyze KPI and quality data to identify trends, potential risks, and opportunities for process and system enhancement.
+ Collect before and after delivery Non-Conforming Cost (NCC) data and develop actions to reduce or eliminate them using 8D methodologies.
+ Establish, lead and participate in cross-functional teams to address systemic quality issues, eliminate non-conformities, and implement lasting solutions.
**Compliance & Documentation:**
+ Ensure all quality assurance activities align with relevant industry regulations, customer requirements, and internal standards.
+ Be responsible for maintenance of quality documentation, including procedures, work instructions, records, and reports.
+ Follow established Siemens AG, EA document control, management and maintenance guidelines.
+ Establish critical metrics and systems to collect & review manufacturing quality data. Analyze trends and develop and implement plans to improve
**Stakeholder Management:**
+ Collaborate closely with Manufacturing, Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Sales teams to integrate quality assurance principles throughout the product lifecycle.
+ Act as the critical issue point of contact for customer quality inquiries
+ Represent management in meetings with customers and on-site visits
+ Collaborate with Supplier Quality Management to define quality requirements for supplier qualification and performance.

**Basic Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial), Quality Management, or a related technical/STEM field.
+ Five (5) or more years of progressive experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Engineering within a manufacturing or technology-focused environment.
+ Prior experience as an ISO Lead Assessor
+ Experience with Quality Management Systems (e.g., ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, 17025, FDA GCMP).
+ Experiencewith welding and AWS certification requirements.
+ Strong understanding of quality methodologies and tools (e.g., pFMEA, SPC, PPAP, APQP, 8D, Six Sigma, LEAN).
+ Proficiency in data analysis and statistical process control.
+ Familiarity with industry standards and regulations.
+ Excellent leadership, team-building, and mentoring skills, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, exceptional communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills with strong organizational skills and an ability to influence and lead change across different organizational levels.
+ Ability and willingness to travel, domestically and/or internationally, up to 30% based on business need, to supplier sites, customer locations, and Siemens facilities.
+ Legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without sponsorship now or in the future.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Experience with specific industry standards relevant to Medium Voltage Electrical equipment (e.g., IEC, UL, etc.).
+ Experience with digital quality tools and software (e.g., SAP, SieOps, statistical software).
