The Development Scientist I is responsible for supporting the operation of the Development Pilot Lab. This lab is primarily responsible for building Development and Pilot lots for the Verification/Validation studies and transferring them into manufacturing at the Chaska site. As such, this position will be responsible for the production of these lots on a routine basis. In addition, this individual will act as a liaison between Development and current production, facilitating the transfer process and assisting in troubleshooting activities. This individual will also work on future development project initiatives for the department as project priorities and pilot lot schedules allow.

This position is part of Development Science located in Chaska (Minneapolis), MN and will be an on-site role. You will be a part of the Assay Development team and report to a supervisor or manager in Development Science.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

+ Participate in the development and commercialization of immunoassays

+ Execute experiments, analyze and present conclusions to teams

+ Communicate project status and data generated with cross-functional teams

+ Work in a fast-paced environment and maintain timelines for mutiple projects

+ Work with the development and manufacturing associates to ensure a smooth transition of product transfer into manufacturing

The essential requirements of the job include:

+ Bachelor’s Degree in Life Science (Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology Biology or related science) and 0+ years of laboratory experience

+ Training in Life Sciences (Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Microbiology, or medical related science), Laboratory Medicine, or other related clinical chemistry experience

+ Candidates must have knowledge of good laboratory practices and scientific methods

It would be a plus if you also have previous experience in:

+ Proven experience in clinical, research, manufacturing, or diagnostic setting with knowledge of immunoassay development

+ Working knowledge of basic statistical methods
