As an intern with the **Electrification and Automation (EA)** division of **Siemens Smart Infrastructure** , you’ll gain hands-on experience supporting power distribution systems that keep the world running today, while also being exposed to our Future Grids technologies that are shaping the power systems of tomorrow – all within a collaborative, impact-driven environment.
**We are seeking qualified candidates to join our Electrical Engineering Co-op beginning in May 2027. This position will be based at our Wendell, North Carolina office location.**
**You’ll make an impact by:**
+ Supporting electrical engineering projects related to medium-voltage power distribution equipment.
+ Reviewing engineering drawings and technical documentation to support project execution.
+ Assisting Lead Project Engineers with engineering deliverables and technical documentation.
+ Supporting process improvement and engineering documentation initiatives.
+ Gaining exposure to protection and power system concepts supporting data center and utility applications.
**You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:**
**Basic Qualifications:**
+ Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and approaching completion of the required educational credentials for this opportunity.
+ Completed coursework in Power Systems and Fundamentals of Electrical Engineering.
+ Ability to work on-site full-time (40 hours per week) during the Summer and Fall 2027 semesters.
+ Candidates must be enrolled with the North Carolina State University co-op program.
+ Eligible candidates must be located within 50 miles of Wendell, NC, as this role does not provide relocation support.
+ Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.
+ This co-op is a structured experiential learning program for individuals currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program who will continue their studies following the assignment. Current and continuing enrollment is a condition of participation. Applicants who have completed or expect to complete their educational program before or during the assignment period are encouraged to explore our Early Career Development Program opportunities.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Experience reviewing engineering drawings and technical documentation.
+ Interest in protection and power system applications for data center and utility projects.
+ Experience supporting engineering projects, documentation activities, or process improvement initiatives.
