**Job Summary**
The Engineering Supervisor in the Strategic Projects Portfolio (SPP) is responsible for providing overall leadership and direction for the engineering team supporting all system improvement projects focused on reliability, resiliency and high impact risk mitigation. This role will lead a team of engineers and analysts and report to the SPP Manager. Some of the primary responsibilities of this role include:
+ Leadership and strategic direction of engineering design for the strategic project portfolio
+ Development of engineering team including teaching sound engineering techniques that build a safer, more reliable system
+ Partner with project managers to ensure projects are scoped correctly and passed through the gated process
+ Management of engineering vendor work and relationships
+ Communication distribution area, capital portfolio team and other stakeholders to communicate design plans and timelines

+ Work closely with the other functional departments to deliver best-in-class, customer value, reliability and cost as well as supporting external community activities
+ Support storm restoration efforts at a region level or the Storm Center. It will also be required to participate in SERP events across the Southern System and events off system as needed
**Education**
+ Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field is required
+ Advanced degree or PE is a plus
**Experience**
+ Minimum five years’ experience in the design and/or operation of the electrical distribution system (i.e., overhead, underground) **preferred**
+ 2 years of formal leadership experience is **required**
+ Experience presenting projects at the DPRT and T&D committees is **preferred**
+ Experience engineering and leading large industrial and commercial projects, Customer Choice, and other complex distribution design projects preferred
+ Proven leadership abilities and commitment to Safety Excellence
+ Proven record of dealing effectively with customers
+ Influencer and champion inclusion through words and actions
+ Experience managing capital and O&M budgets is a plus
+ Experience with storm response and planning is preferred
+ Extensive experience in theory and construction practices associated with UD & OH
+ Operations experience with the system, estimating, and applications knowledge (TCMS, ARMS, JETS)
+ Customer Service experience in customer relations, customer service standards, SOX compliance is a plus
+ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, effective in oral and written communications, facilitation of meetings, and able to build and maintain relationships with varied contacts both outside and within the company
+ Ability to build strong relationships with cross-functional partners and a strong team
+ Established relationships with the Distribution region leadership teams are a plus

+ Knowledge of Distribution operations practices and procedures
+ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written
