The Key Account Manager – Diagnostics, Ireland is responsible for the growth and expansion of direct sales and profit margins within assigned accounts and across the entire Irish territory. This role is instrumental in retaining existing customers, growing the customer base, and meeting assigned targets for profitable sales volume and margin dollars, directly impacting the organization’s market share and financial performance in Ireland.
This position reports to the Sales Manager, Ireland and is part of the Account/Direct Sales team located in Ireland and will be working remotely to cover Ireland.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
+ Execute the agreed sales strategy to achieve market share gain within the entire Irish territory, contributing insights for its ongoing development.
+ Act as the primary contact for customers, engaging with them to ensure business opportunities are maximised – encompassing both retention and competitor accounts.
+ Achieve and exceed assigned sales targets for profitable sales volume and margin dollars within assigned accounts and the overall territory.
+ Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including healthcare professionals, laboratory managers, and purchasing departments, to maximize our value proposition.
+ Work on and lead/project-manage complex tender responses, demonstrating the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
The essential requirements of the job include:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Medical Technology, Business, or a related field, along with an understanding of the diagnostics market within hospital environments.
+ Proven track record of successful sales experience in the diagnostics or medical devices industry.
+ Demonstrated experience in the creation and execution of strategic account plans within the diagnostics or medical sector.
+ Experience in retaining existing customers and managing competitive business in a complex medical environment.
+ Fluency in English.
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:
+ Ability to travel frequently (approximately 60-75%) across the entire Republic of Ireland, with overnight stays as required to effectively manage accounts and territory.
+ You must possess a valid full driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
+ Ability to lift and carry light equipment or marketing materials up to 20 lbs (approximately 9 kg) occasionally.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
+ Proficiency in Salesforce or similar advanced CRM systems.
+ Understanding of the diagnostic laboratory structures and healthcare system in Ireland.
+ Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing innovative sales strategies or solutions within a complex healthcare environment.
