**We are looking for a Machinist I to join our team. This position will be based onsite at our PACS manufacturing facility in Wendell, NC.**
As a Machinist I, you will be responsible for using precision tools and machines to create, repair, rework and assemble parts made from metal and other materials. You will set up and validate machining programs to ensure the safe and precise production of complex parts according to detailed print specifications. This role involves interpreting technical drawings, configuring settings on various machine shop machines, including but not limited to a mill, lathe and other equipment. You will be overseeing the entire machining process to guarantee that all components meet the required quality standards. You will also troubleshoot and adjust programs as needed to optimize accuracy and efficiency while adhering to all safety protocols and production timelines. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining consistent output and achieving high-tolerance specifications for each part.
**Shift Hours:** 6:00 AM- 2:30 PM
**Hourly Rate:** $27.35
**You’ll make an impact by:**
+ Operate finish and engine lathe equipment to produce complex components, meeting customer requirements and production deadlines.
+ Safely load materials and tools, measure tooling, and input tool length offsets into the machine.
+ Set up and operate lathes, recording precise measurements to produce high-tolerance parts, reporting to the Production Supervisor.
+ Verify components engineered for accuracy, efficiency, safety, and quality, recording all dimensions in labor packets.
+ Adjust feed, speed, and tool wear offsets to optimize run times while interpreting technical drawings.
+ Perform daily machine checks, maintain a clean and safe workspace, and follow OSHA and company safety guidelines.
**You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:**
**Basic Qualifications**
+ Proven experience in operating and setting up various machine shop machines, including a CNC mill, CNC lathe and other equipment.
+ Proven experience operating other basic machine shop tools including a band saw, grinder, drill press, iron worker and hand tools.
+ Skilled in identifying issues with machine or tool performance.
+ Proficient in using and reading micrometers, calipers, depth gauges and other precision measuring tools.
+ Strong understanding and ability to interpret and apply information on engineered drawings.
+ Strong understanding of dimensioning, tolerances, and familiarity with both decimal and metric systems.
+ High mechanical aptitude with solid math skills.
+ Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ High School Diploma or equivalent.
+ Experience operating CNC equipment and other basic machine shop equipment and tools.
+ Familiar with Siemens Shop turn/Shop mill conversational programming.
+ Completion of an accredited machining education program.
+ Ability to work with minimal supervision and be self-driven.
