**About Smart Infrastructure – Electrification and Automation:**
The Electrification and Automation (EA) Business Unit offers the full range of energy distribution systems and solutions for all markets and through all sales channels. We provide reliable power distribution grids of today while investing into our Future Grids portfolio and applications to create the power distribution grid of the future. Our comprehensive portfolio meets the growing technical requirements of today’s and tomorrow’s power grid!
The EA Business Unit in Wendell, North Carolina, which is its U.S. headquarters, focuses on electric-vehicle charging, photovoltaic inverters, medium-voltage power distribution equipment including packaging and services, and solutions, including automation. Additionally, assembly of electric-vehicle chargers, low-voltage motor control centers, and retrofit and replacement circuit breakers occurs at the facility.
**We are looking for a Material Management Buyer. This position will be based in Wendell, NC. Relocation assistance is available.**

Siemens Industry, Inc. is seeking a dynamic **Material Management Buyer** to support our Electrification and Automation Business Unit. In this role, you’ll be at the heart of our supply chain—driving smart procurement strategies, ensuring seamless material flow, and collaborating with top-tier vendors to deliver excellence.
**You’ll make an impact by:**
+ Act as the primary liaison between suppliers and manufacturing—own the supply chain with confidence.
+ Generate and manage Purchase Orders (SAP) with precision and speed.
+ Proactively identify and resolve material shortages before they impact production.
+ Monitor and drive supplier On-Time Delivery (OTD) performance.
+ Prepare and analyze supplier KPIs to support continuous improvement.
+ Facilitate supplier onboarding and setup processes.
+ Navigate Siemens procurement tools (SAP, IOL, GMDM, SCMStar) with ease.
+ Issue POs for capital equipment via oneSRM.
+ Participate in supplier qualification for key components.
+ Lead negotiations for Purchase Orders and pursue year-over-year cost savings.
+ Ensure full compliance with Siemens buying guidelines and terms.
+ Collaborate with Supplier Quality and Engineering teams to resolve non-conformances.
+ Support GR/IR issue resolution and exception handling.
+ Help shape commodity strategies for assigned spend categories.
+ Provide backup support to fellow procurement team members.
**You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:**
**Basic Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience.
+ 3–5 years of procurement experience.
+ Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Familiar with MV power distribution equipment
+ Customer-focused mindset and collaborative spirit.
+ Ability to prioritize, adapt, and act with urgency.
+ Self-starter with problem-solving drive and continuous improvement mindset.
