This exciting role will work in our new Chromatography Resin Site in Muskegon, MI. During the pre production phase at the plant this role will help establishment of the resin processes on the site to support all parts of manufacturing. You are expected to travel outside of the US as the Muskegon site cooperates with Uppsala site in Sweden. Your duties vary from assisting with deployment of world class distributed control systems, changes and improvements to systems and training of end users. You will work in a highly collaborative environment with the Operational Technology team in Uppsala Sweden.

What you’ll do

+ Prepare and review performance and functional requirements, risk management, procedures and other associated project related documents.

+ Be part of installing, validating, and qualifying new equipment and the startup of a new chemical processes and working hands-on to define parameters for the equipment and recipes to meet quality goals.

+ Applying analytical and quantitative problem-solving methods for chemical processes systems

+ Facilitate manufacturing and project reviews through preparation of but not limited to Process Maps, FMEA, and Risk-Mitigation Plans.

+ Work side by side with the engineering team on improvement projects: identify, analyze, and drive process issues to resolution including deviation management and change control management.

Who you are

+ Master’s or bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, or related Engineering degree with 5 or more years of working experience within chemical process manufacturing or equivalent.

+ Previous experience in chemical operations an advantage, project experience within the chemical process field desired.

+ Experience in executing equipment qualifications (IQ/OQ/PQ) and DOEs.

+ Knowledge of automation systems.

+ Experience in problem solving and root cause analysis related to chemical processes.

Additional Requirements

+ Frequent walking, bending, stooping, and carrying materials up to 15 lbs; occasional use of stairs up to 4 stories and use of straight ladders up to 20 feet.

+ Working in the field will require the applicate to wear a hard hat, safety glasses, gloves and other necessary PPE for several hours/duration of their field time.

+ Some exposure to high noise areas is expected and the role would require the use of hearing protection such as ear plugs or earmuffs.

+ Ability to use a computer, including MS Excel, Outlook, and Word; and other job-related software for 8 hours a day.
