About the role:
The Sales Specialist (Upstream & Cell Culture) is a market-facing, customer-centric role responsible for accelerating growth of Cytiva’s Cell Culture Media and Upstream portfolio across Brazil. This position acts as a technical-commercial specialist, working in close partnership with Account Managers to drive opportunity identification, pre-sales strategy, and competitive positioning in a highly contested market.
This position reports to the Upstream & Downstream Sr. Manager and is part of the Bioprocess Upstream team located in São Paulo, Brazil. It is a field-based role, covering accounts nationwide in Brazil, with high travel requirements.
What you will do
+ Act as a technical-commercial specialist in Upstream & Cell Culture, working closely with Account Managers to develop and close opportunities across Brazil.
+ Identify, qualify, and develop new business opportunities, building and managing a strong sales pipeline in a highly competitive environment.
+ Lead high-level pre-sales activities, including technical discussions, customer process assessments, solution positioning, competitive differentiation, and demonstrations.
+ Build relationships with key decision-makers and influencers, actively contributing to territory and strategic account plans.
+ Travel extensively across Brazil and occasionally internationally for trainings and factory visits.
Who you are
+ Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, Bioprocess Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related field.
+ Experience in upstream bioprocessing and cell culture, with solid exposure to products such as media, bioreactors, mixers, and consumables.
+ Hybrid technical-commercial profile with strong results orientation, resilience, and comfort operating in competitive markets.
+ Excellent communication, influencing, and customer relationship skills.
+ Fluent English required (it will be assessed during the interviews).
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:
+ Ability to travel 80% of the time, overnight, within Brazillian territory and occasionally internationally.
+ Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
It would be a plus if you also have
+ Experience working with Salesforce or other CRM tools for funnel and opportunity management.
+ Exposure to tender processes, strategic accounts, or large biopharma customers.
+ Spanish speaking skills.
