Description

The Foundation Projects Senior Specialist drives the development and execution of high-impact nonprofit partnerships aligned with The Home Depot Foundation’s corporate social responsibility strategy. This role manages the full grant lifecycle-including evaluation, award, payment, and reporting-while ensuring accurate data management and compliance within grant systems.

The Senior Specialist oversees multiple project budgets and nonprofit relationships, providing insights and recommendations to strengthen program effectiveness, partnerships, impact goals, and storytelling. This position also supports board meeting preparation and coordinates nonprofit board service for associates.

Additionally, the role designs and manages programs to deliver measurable community impact and advance the Foundation’s portfolio using industry best practices. Success in this role requires strong operational execution, including cross-functional coordination, logistics management, and clear, timely communication with internal teams and external partners.

**Key Responsibilities:**

+ 34% Operations – Provide insight and recommendations on program operations and policies

+ 33% Plan and implement Projects – Design, implement and manage programs to advance The Home Depot’s portfolio by incorporating industry best practices

+ 33% Support program operations and strategies – Support program operations and strategies to include budgets, financials, impact goals, partnerships, storytelling, grantmaking, executive project review, and development of resources

**Direct Manager/Direct Reports:**

+ This Position typically reports to Manager or above

**Travel Requirements** :

+ Typically requires overnight travel 5% to 20% of the time.

**Physical Requirements:**

+ Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions, there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

**Working Conditions:**

+ Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

**Minimum Qualifications:**

+ Must be eighteen years of age or older.

+ Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

+ Experience working with or within nonprofit organizations or associate support programs

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical writing

+ Demonstrated passion for community impact and alignment with The Home Depot Foundation’s investment pillars (veteran housing, skilled trades training, and disaster response)

+ Knowledge of grant-making software

+ Ability to manage, extract and analyze data and outcomes

+ Strong analytical skills

+ Experience managing multiple projects or programs in a fast-paced environment

+ Experience working cross-functionally with internal teams and external partners

+ High level of organization and attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing priorities

**Minimum Education:**

+ The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diploma and/or GED.

**Preferred Education:**

+ The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor’s degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
