**About Smart Infrastructure – Electrification and Automation:**

The Electrification and Automation (EA) Business Unit offers the full range of energy distribution systems and solutions for all markets and through all sales channels. We provide reliable power distribution grids of today while investing into our Future Grids portfolio and applications to create the power distribution grid of the future. Our comprehensive portfolio meets the growing technical requirements of today’s and tomorrow’s power grid!

The EA Business Unit in Wendell, North Carolina, which is its U.S. headquarters, focuses on electric-vehicle charging, photovoltaic inverters, medium-voltage power distribution equipment including packaging and services, and solutions, including automation. Additionally, assembly of electric-vehicle chargers, low-voltage motor control centers, and retrofit and replacement circuit breakers occurs at the facility.

**We are looking for a Test Technician – 1st Shift – 7:30a – 4p. This position will be based in Wendell, NC.**

You will perform structured electrical, mechanical, and functional testing according to defined test plans, document results, support diagnostic activities, and contribute to continuous improvement within the testing and quality assurance processes. You will also serve as a Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) Representative, focused specifically on preparing for customer FAT activities and supporting coordination efforts to ensure readiness for customer witnessing.

**You’ll make an impact by:**

**Test Preparation & Execution**

+ Prepare all relevant parts, tooling, and test sequences according to defined test programs and approved test plans.

+ Execute complete testing sequences in accordance with established procedures and work instructions.

+ Document all test results accurately and in compliance with internal quality and traceability requirements.

**Troubleshooting & Diagnostics**

+ Perform diagnostic measures in the event of deviations, anomalies, or failures.

+ Assess test outcomes and escalate issues to engineering or quality teams as needed.

**Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement**

+ Support the analysis of test sequences to identify optimization opportunities.

+ Implement or initiate corrective or improvement measures as directed.

**Quality Assurance Support**

+ Support the ongoing development of the quality assurance system through process feedback and documented findings.

+ Participate in quality reviews, corrective action activities, and data-based evaluations.

**Documentation & Standards**

+ Maintain the testing manual and ensure procedures and testing guidelines remain current and accurate.

+ Assist in updating test instructions, checklists, and related quality documentation.

**Customer FAT Coordination & Readiness**

+ Act as the designated FAT Representative responsible for preparing systems, documentation, and supporting materials needed for FAT events.

+ Ensure the test area, product configuration, and supporting documents are aligned with customer and contractual requirements.

+ Coordinate FAT readiness activities with engineering, production, and quality teams.

+ Organize required documentation, test records, and evidence packages to support customer review during FAT.

+ Provide logistical and administrative support during customer FAT visits, including scheduling, materials, and environment setup.

**Basic Qualifications:**

+ High school diploma or GED

+ Technical training or hands-on experience in electrical, electronic, or mechanical testing.

+ Ability to interpret engineering drawings, test plans, and quality documentation.

+ Experience using electrical test equipment and measurement tools.

+ Strong organizational skills for FAT preparation and documentation readiness.

+ Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and adherence to safety and quality procedures.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

• Experience with MV and LV switchgear, LV Motor Control Centers, and LV Switchboards.
