**About Smart Infrastructure – Electrification and Automation:**
The Electrification and Automation (EA) Business Unit offers the full range of energy distribution systems and solutions for all markets and through all sales channels. We provide reliable power distribution grids of today while investing into our Future Grids portfolio and applications to create the power distribution grid of the future. Our comprehensive portfolio meets the growing technical requirements of today’s and tomorrow’s power grid!
The EA Business Unit in Wendell, North Carolina, which is its U.S. headquarters, focuses on electric-vehicle charging, photovoltaic inverters, medium-voltage power distribution equipment including packaging and services, and solutions, including automation. Additionally, assembly of electric-vehicle chargers, low-voltage motor control centers, and retrofit and replacement circuit breakers occurs at the facility.
**We are looking for a Materials Manager. This position will be based in Wendell, NC. Relocation assistance is available.**
Responsible for leading the Plant Operational Materials team, by providing day-to-day leadership and management support to the team and meeting material availability, cost, inventory, quality, and supplier management targets. The individual will be responsible to develop the team to support the on-going needs for the business and develop sourcing strategies to support the growth plans of the Factory.
The role will provide results driven leadership for all Purchasing activities to ensure that all key inventory, supplier performance and material availability targets are achieved.
This role is critical in scaling our supply chain operations to support aggressive production targets and new product introductions. The Materials Manager will be instrumental in forecasting future needs, mitigating supply risks, and ensuring a seamless flow of materials during periods of rapid expansion
**You’ll make an impact by:**
+ Lead and mentor Materials Team to ensure that all plant needs regarding material availability and inventory requirements are balanced and in the correct alignment
+ Partner with commodity management to develop, implement and maintain supply chain strategies that align plant needs with commodity strategies
+ Establish and maintain measurable performance metrics for the Materials Management activities at the plant
+ Manage systems and processes to support inventory forecasting, material and capacity planning, scheduling, cost control and make vs. buy decisions
+ Identify, develop and manage relationships with existing and potential suppliers to meet quality, delivery, and cost targets.
+ Collaborate with Sourcing, Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality to achieve cost reduction targets
+ Develop and implement robust material strategies that anticipate future demand fluctuations and support new product launches, ensuring continuity of supply and cost efficiency during high-growth phases
+ Collaborate closely with Production Planning, Engineering, and Sales to ensure material availability aligns with evolving production forecasts and customer demand during periods of significant growth
**You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:**
**Basic Qualifications:**
+ BS degree in business, management, or other related fields
+ 5+ years’ experience in management of materials and procurement
+ Working knowledge of MRP systems
+ SAP Proficiency required
+ Leads by example and motivates people to create a challenging, empowering and collaborative working environment
+ Utilize data analytics and business intelligence tools, and strong analytical problem-solving ability
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field.
+ Use tools, processes, and metrics to optimize supplier value for our business
+ CSCP or CPIM Preferred
